Farm animals at Woorabinda
In addition to our landlord's animals, namely cattle, sheep, horses and, later, dogs, cats and chickens, we had a number of farm animals and pets as well.
When arriving we "inherited" a domestic cat, which we kept.
Our cat "Panther", who has a talent for finding comfort in almost any situation
A half-feral cat that in the past had been chased out of the household by other pets kept on visiting us at night to scrounge part of our cat's food.
The semi-feral cat "Tiger", a tabby tiger
Then we started two groups of chickens, one normal-sized (different breeds), the other bantams (see photo below).
"Top act" performed by three of our bantam chooks (no explanation will be given on how they came to be in this position)
One day we thought we could not trust our eyes any more, when we were visited by a flock of up to five feral axis deer, two of which came into the garden to graze there.
One (above) was obviously used to the presence and contact of humans
At some point Michael caught a little feral piglet, which we gave away again, because it is not permitted to raise feral pigs in Australia
Next thing we brought home from the bush was a little feral goat, named "Billy the Kid", here about a week old
On this photo aged two months and joined by Coby and "Fluffy", one of the landlords' lambs
