Birds of Australia - Family groups

We follow here the convention adopted in the "Field Guide to Australian Birds" by Michael Morcombe (external link), in which all Australian bird families are collected into 26 family groups as reproduced in the table below.

Every species seen by us is listed in an index of bird names. Now a complete index is also available.
