Message to users of Internet Explorer
We have been advised of two problems that may occur when viewing our
pages with Internet Explorer. After having spent weeks in trying to
make everything IE-compliant, we regret the inconvenience and apologise
for it! Should you experience any problems viewing our pages, we would
appreciate your technical
feedback
.
1. On our pages on birds of Australia (e.g. Emu) the - normally "hidden" - information on "Range, habitat" cannot always be opened (while the information on "Sightings" can be opened without problems). We are currently looking into this bizarre behaviour by Internet Explorer. At the present time our best advice is to migrate to a web browser that works properly. Neither Firefox, Chrome, Safari nor Opera (all of which are available for free downloading) are causing visitors to our site any problems. And all of these web browsers, which do in fact work, also work consistently, i.e. reproduce each other's behaviour. Only IE is the standout in that it does NOT adhere to many common standards adopted by other software developers.
2. In some cases the slide show on the home page may not appear at the centre of the screen.
