As indicated in field guides, this is a category of birds that do not find enough food during the cold winter months of the southern half of the Australian continent and are therefore migratory. All except the Laughing Kookaburra leave the southern parts of Australia to spend the winter in a warmer climate. We try to record the arrival and departure dates of those migratory birds spotted by us.
